L’Oreal adverts are very similar to each other featuring similar camera angles, such as an establishing shot at the start and close ups and extreme close ups throughout, and celebrity endorsement. This particular advertisement first off shows the celebrity in the establishing shot setting the scene of the advert. It then goes to a shot of the product that is being advertised making it clear for the viewers what is being advertised. The rest of the advertisement uses mainly closes ups and extreme close ups so people mainly focus on the hair when watching the ad. Finally it shows the product again at the end of the ad therefore the viewers will remember the product. The advertisement has soft music throughout playing quietly in the background and a voiceover which gives scientific factors and statistics of the product making the product sound more appealing toward the viewer and persuading them it’s the best shampoo to use because of its benefits. The setting of the advertisements is colour schemed with the colour of the product packaging; this is done so the viewers can relate the colour to the product throughout the ad and the colour/s will be memorable. The benefits of the product are shown throughout the ad. Its shows that it will give you unbelievably smooth glossy hair using close ups of the hair to show this. The use of celebrity endorsement makes the product even more appealing to the viewer as they will think this particular celebrity uses the product making them want to use it as well. Also at the end of the advertisement the well known slogan ‘because your worth it’ is used. This will help the viewer remember the brand of the product if wanting to buy the shampoo.
This is another advertisement advertising L’oreal Elvive shampoo which is similar to the previous one I analysed. This advert uses celebrity endorsement, like the previous ad, with a well known celebrity (Jennifer Aniston). The advertisement starts off with an establishing shot of the celebrity in the setting of the advert. The ad then shows a medium shot of the celebrity talking to the audience about her ‘relationship’ with L’oreal shampoo, it then cuts to a shot of the product and a voiceover starts to talk about what the product has to offer. It then goes back to the celebrity describing all the benefits the shampoo has for your hair and next the voiceover explain the scientific factors of the shampoo, while showing animation of how the shampoo works on the hair. The main camera angles that are used are medium shots and close ups this is so the viewer can focus on the hair of the celebrity rather than the rest of them. The setting of the advertisement uses the colours white and green, the same colours as the shampoo bottle this helps the audience remember the product relating it with the colours making it easy for the customer to buy when purchasing. The advert uses music in the background throughout, the music is upbeat this gives the effect that the shampoo makes you feel fun and confident. Overall from the two advertisements I have analysed they are both very similar in the fact that they all use camera angles/shots, voiceover, celebrity endorsement, music and the settings relating to the colours of the product.
